Thank you Pinecone for providing this opportunity to recognize a remarkable young man. Rory came into our life when he toured my son at Westmont three years ago. At the time we as a family were pretty beaten down spiritually, emotionally and physically. I am convinced my son decided on Westmont because of Rory’s impact during that tour. They became close friends and spiritual brothers, working on this radio station, spreading the gospel on the streets and supporting each other through the demands of school and young adulthood. Rorie is one of the most amazing young men I have met in my nearly 52 years of life. His boyish smile, his enthusiasm for the the Bible were so disarming you could not help but get into the word. Even his t-shirts made me ponder the role Jesus Christ has in our lives. I will never forget one of Rory’s favorite shirts…I am Barabbas…I finally get it…and I will miss him!!!
